What Claro Does

Claro is a personal finance app that helps you understand your spending through bank statement imports and AI-powered analysis. You import CSV or PDF statements, and Claro categorizes transactions and generates insights.

Data We Collect

• Account information: Email address and password for authentication, managed by Supabase Auth.
• Financial data: Transaction descriptions, amounts, dates, merchant names, and categories from bank statements you import. This data is stored locally on your device and synced to our secure cloud database tied to your account.
• Imported files: PDF statements are temporarily uploaded for processing and deleted immediately after extraction. We do not retain your original statement files.

How We Use Your Data

• To display your transactions, spending breakdowns, and financial summaries.
• To generate AI-powered insights and answer your questions about your spending.
• To automatically categorize transactions using AI.
• To sync your data across devices when you sign in.

AI Processing

Claro uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate insights, categorize transactions, and answer questions about your spending. When using these features, aggregated financial summaries (not raw bank credentials) are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic does not use this data to train their models. Data Storage & Security

• Your data is stored locally on your device using SQLite and in Supabase (PostgreSQL) for cloud sync.
• All cloud data is protected by row-level security — only you can access your data.
• Authentication tokens are stored in iOS Secure Storage.
• All network communication uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with Anthropic for AI processing as described above.

Your Rights

• Export: You can export all your data as JSON from Settings at any time.
• Delete: You can delete all your data and your account from Settings. This removes all data from our servers permanently.
• Access: All your data is visible to you within the app at all times.

Children

Claro is not intended for users under 17. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
